One start after breaking his maiden by 7 ¼ lengths on debut, the ultra-talented ARABIAN KNIGHT proved that stepping up to stakes company wasn’t an issue in the Southwest Stakes (G3).

ARABIAN KNIGHT went straight to the lead in the 1 1/16-mile Oaklawn Park race from the gate. The Bob Baffert trainee coasted through the early stages over a length ahead of the field on the sloppy track. John Velazquez let his mount out a notch when another runner tried to challenge for the lead and it was all easy work from there as the colt easily pulled away to win by 5 ½ lengths.

ARABIAN KNIGHT stopped the clock in 1:43.50 in his first start going farther than a mile.

Now the winner of his two starts by a combined 12 ¾ lengths, the Uncle Mo son was a $2.3 million OBS April purchase by Zedan Racing Stables. That colt came from the same sale as another talented Zedan runner in ARABIAN LION.
